Overview
Dr. Troy Guthrie, Jr. is a board-certified and fellowship-trained medical oncologist with decades of expertise in providing high quality oncology care to patients in the Jacksonville area.
After graduating from the University of Georgia, he earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia where he also completed fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology. He then went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine and Hematology and his internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX.
With a clear passion for advancing the field of oncology care, Dr. Guthrie has a special interest in research and innovative approaches such as immunotherapy, vaccines, targeted small molecules and monoclonal antibodies. He has been the principal investigator on dozens of oncology clinical trials and also serves as the GenesisCare Medical Director for Medical Oncology Research.
Dr. Guthrie is a frequent presenter at local and national conferences and has been published in many clinical journals. He has also authored various abstracts, scientific presentations and book chapters.
Having held various leadership positions on state boards and committees including the Ethics Committee for the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology as well as the Governor’s Task Force on Prostate Cancer for the State of Florida, Dr, Guthrie is also a teaching associate at the University of Florida and regularly participates in tumor boards.
Dr. Guthrie is a member of various scientific and professional societies including the American Federation of Clinical Research and the American Medical Association.
