Overview
Dr. Carlos A. Vidal is a hematologist oncologist with decades of experience in providing high quality cancer care to patients in South Florida. With expertise in treating all types of cancer including lung, colorectal, prostate and hematologic malignancies, Dr. Vidal has a special interest in basic and clinical research and was also a guest researcher of the Hematopathology Lab of the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD. With a passion to advance oncology care, he has been principal investigator as well sub investigator on several oncology clinical trials.
Dr. Vidal received his medical degree from Cayetano Heredia University in Lima, Peru. After completing an Internal Medicine Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI, he went on to complete a Clinical Fellowship in Hematology at SUNY in Buffalo, NY followed by a Clinical Fellowship in Medical Oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY. Following this, he was named Chief of Hematology/Oncology at Salem VA Medical Center and was also an assistant professor of internal medicine at the University of Virginia.
Having authored numerous abstracts and other publications and delivered lectures to clinical audiences nationally, Dr. Vidal is currently a voluntary faculty member at the University of Miami, FL and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
