Overview
Dr. Kowalsky was born in Pennsylvania. He attended Washington and Jefferson College where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry. He briefly attended the University of Pittsburgh graduate school for chemical engineering before deciding to attend medical school at Temple University. It was there in 1980 that he graduated with his Doctorate of Medicine. Dr. Kowalsky then completed an internship at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, followed by a general surgery residency from 1981-1985. From 1985-1986 Dr. Kowalsky carried out a vascular fellowship at the Hope Heart Institute in Seattle, Washington. Since 1986 he has been a part of Associates in General and Vascular Surgery in Ft. Myers. He is a member of several societies including: Lee County Medical Society, Florida Vascular Society, Florida Medical Society, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and the Society of Vascular Surgery. He has also served on several of these boards and as President of the Medical Staff at Lee Memorial Hospital and Chief of Staff. Dr. Kowalsky enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
