Overview
Jacob Benedict, MD, was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He enjoyed being a student-athlete throughout his childhood as a competitive gymnast in the Junior Olympic Program. Dr. Benedict transitioned to competitive cheerleading at the University of Central Florida, where he received an athletic scholarship and a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. After graduating with honors, he completed his Medical Doctorate at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Benedict completed his 5-year Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He enjoys treating his patient's immediate medical needs and emotional, physical, and social wellness.
Dr. Benedict practices pediatric and adult otolaryngology. During his residency training, he took a particular interest in laryngology and the treatment of vocal disorders, including vocal cords paralysis, dysphagia and benign vocal cord pathology. He is also trained in treating surgical conditions of the sinus, nasal cavity, facial trauma, thyroid/parathyroid, and obstructive sleep apnea. He enjoys improving his patient's vocal quality and ability to communicate with their loved ones.
In his spare time, his interests include spending time with his wife and daughter, Olympic weightlifting, CrossFit and skiing in the pacific northwest with his family.
