
Overview
Dr. Daniel Hellerstein is certified by the American Board of Urology and completed 11 years of medical school, post-doctoral and fellowship training with some of the most esteemed and accomplished professors in modern medicine. Following his fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery in 1990, he joined The Mayo Clinic and became Assistant Professor of Urology at The Mayo Medical School.
Dr. Hellerstein has written many papers in the field of urology and is a noted international expert and lecturer on the treatment of enlarged prostates (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia - BPH). He has led national studies on the Transurethral Microwave Thermotherapy - Prostatron (Pros' -ta-tron) and teaches this non-surgical procedure to other urologists around the country.
Dr. Hellerstein specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of urologic diseases with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques for all urologic conditions. His practice includes the full range of male and female urologic health and wellness issues, from physical fitness to sexual health, from general strategies to specific tactics to enable patients to get the most appropriate care. His urology practice is open to adult patients over 18 years of age.
